Promoting citizen science and action for the environment
Dreamocracy is a proud member of More4Nature, a EU HORIZON project that catalyses transformative change by actively involving citizens and communities as key stakeholders in the enforcement of environmental law. The project is a vast enterprise gathering close to 30 organisations with very different backgrounds. Our role – as Dreamocracy – is to lead and coordinate engagement with policy makers and environmental agencies at national, European and global levels so they play their part in the desired transformative change. Research shows indeed that, while citizens have a significant role to play in the promotion, monitoring and enforcement of environment compliance assurance, laws, regulations, and technical guidance can deter such involvement. It is therefore critical to act.
Services provided
We apply creative advocacy methods and mobilise creative thinking to prioritise strategic objectives and opportunities, develop messages that resonate with target audiences, build successful alliances and shape impactful outreach. In order to do so, we:
- Enable constructive dialogue between a diversity of participants
- Mobilise creative stakeholder management and engagement
- Apply creative messaging and story-telling
- Organise ideation sessions to enlarge the range of policy options and the Overton Window
Impact
Dreamocracy and its More4Nature partners ambition to unlock the transformative power of creative public policy for the protection of the environmental common good. Between 2024 and 2027, we will be accompanying the project delivering on key deliverables:
- the identification and promotion of new policy options,
- the building of a strong and supportive policy network,
- the organisation of national roadshows in 6 EU Member States and
- the publication of policy briefs highlighting lessons learned and calls to action.
